You can use the time to work on any kind of project that could benefit from a creative push
A few months ago, I whined very loudly about wanting writer friends. I needed to talk to people who would understand the immensity of my ambition not simply because they were kind, empathetic humans but because they were going THROUGH it themselves. I felt desperate. Lucky for me, ask and Substack shall provide. Within a week, I had a writing group of my own.
The Big Magic Writing Group has already met 4 times and through our chats, we have encouraged each others’ writing projects, provided accountability, asked each other those embarrassing questions that we wouldn’t dare ask anyone else, celebrated writing goals achieved and … most importantly … written many words together. We have created for each other a soft, cozy space to land in the disorienting field of “I am trying to take my writing seriously and it is all too much to handle on my own.” I won’t speak for everyone else, but from my perspective - every writer needs a group like ours.
