This is SUCH a fun idea for a series! It's fascinating to talk more about the hobby of reading in conjunction with the books themselves. It's like peaking into someone's purse or medicine cabinet. Fascinating. Very cool of Kate to share her reading life with us and can't wait to read more of these!
I love this, Petya! I’m excited to read more from Kate. This whole interview made me want to thrown my phone in another room and pick up my book (which I’m off to do now…)
I feel so blessed to even know that Substack exists - it started with a simple invite and wanting to support a childhood friend’s new endeavor and has turned into something much bigger, kind of a salon of readers and writers that I get to be part of and that feeds my book-loving soul. I am not a writer, just a retired speech pathologist and tired soccer mom who loves books, and am very much a spectator here, but I am thankful for this platform and all of you who fill it!
I loved this article and all of Kate’s insight - especially to read what you want and not what you think you should. YES.
Rahhh!! Loved this. I have saved so many of Kate’s pieces to read now. I was just learning about the Deep Work mindset somewhere else. Feels like a sign. And I love the tips which I’ve also heard from you: carry a book around and don’t downplay a few pages. I’m still cruising through my Mary Oliver book of poems as my espresso dispenses every morning..and it’s slow going but it’s certainly more than the zero pages I would have read had I not put it on top of the machine at all. Just so divine to read about reading.
Such good advice on how to read more, Kate! Phone/book is a never-ending battle.
When I am at home, I try to keep my book on top of my phone - LITERALLY. I am eastern-european and guilt/shame are strong motivators.
Bring idea!
Thank you so much for having me over to your newsletter, Petya! :)
Thank you! 🥹 🥹 🥹
How fun to get to know Kate this way! Hi to you both. I’ll have to read Wayward soon.
Me too! It's on my list now!
SO GOOD!!!
This was such a lovely read and I loved getting to learn about Kate! I just ordered All Fours and am eager to dive in!
OMG Kayli, I can't wait to hear what you think! This newsletter is becoming an All Fours Appreciation Society. 😂
I’ll definitely keep you posted! I feel like the world is. 😂
An absolute delight to read! 🥹💛
Kate is the best!

I need to take a book to a cafe and read - that is my new self-care/book reading tactic! I have not done that in ages.
I'm loving this series!!
