We just got back from a family trip to Portland, OR celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday. We ate amazing food, went on amazing hikes and even sneaked in some bookstore time.
I planned the trip as a surprise months ago and as we were all getting hyped to leave, I started catching myself making all sorts of plans of how I would use the long days of travel and the down time once we were there to begin reading my first draft in preparation for editing. But then, thankfully, I heard a voice in my head that said - Work. Family. Scene. Pick two.
